يوجد شعب " الهوبي" في
الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، ويُعرَف _أيضاً _ ب"الكاشينا"، وهي
دُمَى تمثّل أرواح الطبيعة والأسلاف؟
ففي أعماق جنوب غرب الولايات المتحدة، يوجد مشهد يتميز بالصحاري الشاسعة
والهضاب المرتفعة، حيث يعيش شعب "الهوبي" الذي ترسخت تقاليده وثقافته
عبر آلاف السنين. كانت هذه المجموعة من السكان الأصليين، والتي يعني اسمها
"الشعب المسالم"، ولا تزال مثالًا رائعًا على التكيف الثقافي والمرونة.
أحد الجوانب المثيرة للاهتمام بشكل خاص في ثقافتهم هم الكاشينا، وهم شخصيات أساسية

Indigenous group, whose name means “peaceful people,” has been and remains a
fascinating example of cultural adaptation and resilience. A particularly
intriguing aspect of their culture are the Kachinas, essential figures not only
in their religion but also in their worldview.
Kachinas are much more than
just dolls; they are representations of spirits that are created to be
intermediary between the human world and supernatural powers. These figures,
carved from cotton wood and meticulously decorated, are a central pillar in
Hopi education and spiritual life. Throughout the year, numerous Kachina
ceremonies are held culminating in the summer solstice, a period where tribe
members gather to pay tribute to these spirits, ensuring rain, growth of crops,
and the balance of the natural world.

figure is both an object of art and a carrier of teachings. Each kachina has
distinctive characteristics and a name that reflects its particular connection
to the natural world or its role in Hopi society. For example, there are
